Shepard Fairey Artist analysis

Frank Shepard Fairey is an American contemporary street artist, Graphic Designer, Activist, illustrator and founder of OBEY clothing  who emerged from the skateboarding scene.

Growing up in Charleston, South Carolina, Fairey first become known for his 'Andre the giant has a posse' sticker campaign while attending the 'Rhode island school of design'.

He became widely known during the 2008 U.S. presidentail election by creating the Barack Obama 'Hope poster'.

His work links to my work because he creates bold designs with a strong composition with his sharp lines and angles and his bold thick patterns composes something unique that stands out greatly from everyone else. Creating bold designs that stands out from every one else is something that I want to do with in my project and is also a very important aspect to 'The Dirty North craft brewery'.
