For this design I have taken inspiration from a cult Manchester figure called Ian Brown who was the lead singer of the band The Stone Roses who were a Cult Manchester Band during the late 80s and early 90s. Ian Browns nick name is King Monkey as for simply having similar features of a monkey, thats why I designed him as a monkey whichI feel would contribute to giving my designs some character. I have given him a black & white shirt that he wore during the Glasgow Green concert in 1990. | For this design I decided to give him a Noel Gallagher look as he sports a Manchester City shirt from the 1995/96 season. I have also given him the classic mop of hair that is covering his eyes and a moody frown. |

For these two characters I have taken inspiration from Ian Brown and John Squire from The Stone Roses as John is sporting the classic parker jacket and Ian is wearing a classic baggy shirt. | For these set of designs I have drawn five different cult figures from Manchester that is Frank Sidebottom, John Cooper Clark, Mark E. Smith, Ian Brown and Morrisey. |
This is another Ian Brown design with his black and white shirt that he wore during the Glasgow Green concert.
This design is based on the poet John Cooper Clark who's style was gothic and wild with his messy hair and jet black suit.
Character Design explorations and experiments
These are some rough character designs that I have produced towards my developments to create my promotional branding for 'The Dirty North craft brewery'. While producing these designs I have taken inspiration from stereo typical Manchester style from the 80s and early 90s as I have been researching the fashion from cult Manchester Figures during that time such as Ian Brown, Tim Burgess, Mark E. Smith, John Cooper Clark, Morrisey, Noel Gallagher and Frank Sidebottom.

For these character designs I have taken inspiration from the illustrative styles of Jamie Hewlett and the characters from the Wychwood brewery labels as I have added humorous characters with in my designs as they both use humour with in their designs.
